Yesterday morning, I woke up from a dream that felt so real, I had to write it down. It wasn't just a dream; it was a homecoming.

The Dream: The Magical Energy of My Atlanta Loft

In the dream, I was home.

Not the physical home I share with Olivier on the organic farm in the South of France.

I was standing in the center of my loft in Atlanta, the one in the converted 1890s schoolhouse in Inman Park. This was the first, and only, place I owned alone (2003-2009) and it’s where my book ​Free To Be Me​ begins.

My special loft with 18-foot ceilings that made my spirit feel as expansive as the space itself. The one with three massive walls of windows that framed the entire city, the Bank of America building lighting up the night like a personal constellation just for me.

In the dream, I felt it. The magical energy that permeated every brick and beam of that place. It was the energy of a life that was easy, fun, and effortlessly abundant.

My neighbor, Jen, from back then, came over, and we just stood there, looking out the window, cherishing the memory of the space and the time we shared there. It was heartwarming, an acknowledgment of a time that felt golden.

A Deeper Truth: Houses in Dreams Are The Self

When I woke, the feeling lingered. I lay in the quiet of our bedroom, next to Olivier, and let the dream wash over me. For a moment, I thought it was just nostalgia, a sweet reminder of another life I loved and lost.

The 2008 crash blew it up, forcing me into bankruptcy, taking my beloved loft from me. But as the day went on, I remembered...houses in dreams are not just houses; they are the self.

And I wasn't visiting my old loft. I was visiting myself.

That loft was the physical manifestation of my energy at that time. It was me, creating a life that was a pure expression of my soul.

I had my sweet, magical yellow lab, Hudson, who would find hidden toys in the bushes, including a Care Bear ball on his birthday that said, "Celebrate."

I walked Hudson for hours every day, exploring the winding paths through Inman Park and the streets of Little Five Points. I went to advanced Pilates and cooked nourishing meals. In my corporate sales job, I was the top performer while barely working. The energy was so potent, success flowed to me with ease.

And yet, beneath the surface of success, I was deeply wounded and repressed, escaping through addictions and managing my symptoms with restriction.

The Golden Thread: From Journaling to the Resource Vibe

It was in that loft that my true work began. After four years of deep subconscious healing, I left my corporate life and started hosting journaling workshops in my living room, teaching people to find their inner voice as I had found mine.

Serving as a powerful vortex of healing and connection, the loft was where the first seed of my business was planted. This included my journaling workshops, and also the creation of "Where Wellness," my first resource directory to connect people to the healing modalities I was discovering.

The dream wasn't a nostalgic wish to return to the past; it was a powerful realization that I had come full circle.

The freedom that losing the loft gave me led me to Thailand, to research healing, to discover the emotional root cause, to my shamanic path in Costa Rica, and ultimately, to the life I have now.

​And as I reflected on the dream, I saw the golden thread so clearly:

• The journaling workshops in my living room evolved into the profound, embodied process of ​Core Emotional Healing®​.
• Completing that process for myself birthed my signature ​True Essence Program​.
• And "Where Wellness", the directory I started back then, is now my modern-day interactive podcast, ​Elicia Woodford's Resource Vibe​.

Being Home, Healed and Whole

My life today carries the energy in the loft, built upon a solid foundation. I still enjoy a rich social life, deep connections, and my Pilates practice that keeps me strong and centered. I create from a place of flow and ease. And now, I share my magical energy with Olivier, a love that deepens and expands it rather than dims it. And most importantly, I am healed.

The dream was showing me that the special, magical energy of that loft was not contained in its walls. It was always mine. And now, for the first time, I am fully in it, with nothing and no one dulling, dimming, or distracting me from it.

The bankruptcy, the journey, the healing - it was all necessary to bring me back to myself, more whole and more powerful than ever before.

I am home. And this time, I can never lose it.

My dream showed me that the magic was never in the place, but in me. That golden thread of healing, connection and ease is within you, too. I help you follow that thread in all that I do.
