Tools for Integration: The Pen and The Lens

Hi Reader,

I want to share my two favorite transformative tools that can support you right now: The Pen and The Lens.

  • Writing helps us process and clarify what’s happening inside.
  • Photography helps us see the messages and beauty reflecting back to us.

When you feel overwhelmed, lost, or heavy, pick up a pen (or your computer) and write it down to release and discover what you need.

When you want to cultivate love, inspiration, and spiritual connection, pick up your phone (or camera) and capture the beauty all around you.

They offer a direct path to healing, support us through hard times, and serve as mirrors for self-awareness.

The Healing Power of the Pen ✍️

Last year, I used the first tool every day as I wrote my memoir, Free to Be Me.

As I wrote my story, I wasn’t just writing memories, I was emotionally processing my recent past. I went into all of the feelings around my marriage and leaving the “dream life” we created together.

But as I wrote and grieved, something shifted.

Synchronicity was happening all around me. I was also gaining a new perspective, forgiveness and gratitude.

The writing process also allowed me to finally let ALL of me be seen.

Now, I am embracing the final piece of my journey to visibility: My Photography.

For a long time, my photos were just for me. But I realized they carry the energy and messages from nature that supported my own healing.

  • Dragonfly & Baby Hummingbirds: These showed up after I separated from my husband, they carry the energy of new beginnings.
  • The Baby Sloth: This little one surprised me at my Baby Puppy’s birthday party at a beach club in Costa Rica. Sharing the pure sweetness and joy, and a reminder to slow down and smile.
  • Sunflower & Bee: Where I am now in the South of France, this represents positive spiritual energy and the realization of dreams. (I just printed this one on aluminum and Olivier hung it in our dining room!).

Now It’s Your Turn

For me, this year is about visibility—putting all of me into the world with nothing hiding. And I want to share that energy with you.

I invite you to browse my photo collection in my new shop.

Use your intuition. Don't "think" about it, just see which photo stands out to you.

Pay attention to how you feel. Which image draws you in? That photo likely holds the energy you are currently working with or inviting into your life.

Reply and let me know: Which photo called to you, and what does it represent for you right now?

Feel free to ask me any questions. I'm here for you.

With so much love,

Elicia

Hi Reader, There is a sacred, sometimes unsettling, space between who we were and who we are becoming. This was the theme that emerged in my True Essence group call this week, and it mirrored what I just went through over the past three years. Many of us are currently navigating a significant identity shift. We are letting go of old roles, feeling like we’re “burning it all down”, and dealing with the noise of old patterns (and people) trying to pull us back into the past. When these storms...

Hi Reader, In recent weeks, I've emphasized creating space. I spoke about the vital energy that returns when we let go of scrolling for distraction and validation, release the effort of constant self-fixing, and welcome the quiet. This year, I embraced that quiet. After twenty years dedicated to the alchemy of emotional healing, I am currently immersed in a season of deep personal reconnection. I made the choice to unplug from the noise of Facebook and habits that dampened my energy. What I...

Hi Reader, On Tuesday, I asked what boundaries you needed to set right now, whether it was stepping back from social media, letting go of draining relationships, or taking a break from a substance that is no longer serving your body. When we finally set those boundaries and stop numbing or distracting ourselves, we are more present. At first, that quiet space can feel a little uncomfortable. But it is also the exact space where you can connect with your true feelings and essence. When you...
