Turning down the noise…

Hi Reader,

Staying deeply connected to yourself and protecting your energy is the most vital practice today.

While we are all aware of how other people affect us, and even the news, we often overlook the most subtle drain: social media.

You cannot deeply connect to yourself and hear your intuition if your mind is overwhelmed with digital noise.

Last month, I hit a wall. The energy on social media was feeling incredibly heavy, draining, and completely misaligned with my nervous system's need for rest and regulation.

So, I honored that signal. I set a boundary and completely unplugged.

What followed was a deep sense of calm.

When we step away from the constant scroll—the comparison, the escaping, the consuming of other people's energy—our entire system goes through a reset.

  • The mental fog lifts.
  • Our stress hormones drop.
  • And the energy we were leaking into our screens comes rushing back home to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

I actually sat down and wrote out exactly what happens to your mind, body, and emotions when you unplug, along with some grounding tools I am using to support my nervous system in the quiet (including adaptogens, weighted blanket, and slow mornings).

Since it's packed with details, I turned it into a full blog post for you.

If you feel addicted to social media…

What if you turned the noise off? Even just for a full 24 hours, a weekend, or longer.

What if you woke up tomorrow offline, just sipping your tea or coffee, looking out the window, and letting your brain wake up to your physical world first?

I encourage you to try it. Give your nervous system a break and see what feelings, ideas, or clarity bubble up to the surface when you finally give yourself some quiet.

If you want to be fully supported in the process of coming back to yourself, I am now offering my True Essence Program as a month-to-month process. This includes the recorded personal photography assignments, weekly access to me and the group in a private forum, and a new live group call every month (at no extra cost).

“Through the process, I got to meet the parts of myself that were afraid to be seen and loved. I was able to expand and experience a world that celebrated my differences and abilities instead of attacking or shaming them. Now, I feel very grounded and assured in myself. I’ve arrived at my own personal connection to my true soul and inner guidance. Thank you Elicia for everything and for creating the space where I could see and meet the real me.” - Hannah

I would love to hear from you: Are you feeling called to take a break from the external noise right now?

Hit reply and let me know.

With so much love,
Elicia

Hi Reader, There is a sacred, sometimes unsettling, space between who we were and who we are becoming. This was the theme that emerged in my True Essence group call this week, and it mirrored what I just went through over the past three years. Many of us are currently navigating a significant identity shift. We are letting go of old roles, feeling like we’re “burning it all down”, and dealing with the noise of old patterns (and people) trying to pull us back into the past. When these storms...

Hi Reader, In recent weeks, I've emphasized creating space. I spoke about the vital energy that returns when we let go of scrolling for distraction and validation, release the effort of constant self-fixing, and welcome the quiet. This year, I embraced that quiet. After twenty years dedicated to the alchemy of emotional healing, I am currently immersed in a season of deep personal reconnection. I made the choice to unplug from the noise of Facebook and habits that dampened my energy. What I...

Hi Reader, On Tuesday, I asked what boundaries you needed to set right now, whether it was stepping back from social media, letting go of draining relationships, or taking a break from a substance that is no longer serving your body. When we finally set those boundaries and stop numbing or distracting ourselves, we are more present. At first, that quiet space can feel a little uncomfortable. But it is also the exact space where you can connect with your true feelings and essence. When you...
